Mainz officially confirmed that the team has parted ways with coach Bayer Lozer.
Mainz officials stated that the club's sports manager Schroeder and management evaluated the situation of the team and they finally made the decision to change coaches.
The 52-year-old Bayer Lozer was appointed as Mainz coach in November last year. He started well in the early days of coaching.
Bayer Lozer led Mainz to relegation in the Bundesliga last season, and the team finally ranked 13th in the standings.
After entering this season, Mainz had a poor start to the Bundesliga. After losing 1-3 to RB Leipzig in the first round of away games, they lost 1-4 to the newly promoted Ma Stuttgart at home in the last round.
